There is no comparing Islam to any other religion. Do the Christians, or Jews, or Hindus, or Bahi, or any other religion force you to convert? Force you to live under their rules? Torture or kill you if you don't convert? Does any religion other than Islam do THIS to another human being? Sometimes I run across a post that is too good, too complete, to destroy by posting bits an pieces of it here. The Velvet Hammer has such a post at her place, Ironic Surrealism, titled "Dancing With The Devil". You need to go read it all because it's about Islam -- past, present and future Islam. She quotes The End of Islam, covers The Jihad against the Byzantine Christians (634 to 1453), and If it believes like Satan and acts like Satan… (Resa LaRu Kirkland), just to name a few. Hello! Europe, Are You There? Or Are You Already Muffled In Your "Burqa" ??? Concerning an article at The Jawa Report, "Palestinian Terrorists Murder Jewish Civilian, and Hyscience "More Anti-Israel Media Bias"

On the burqua, "Holland will soon be the first country in Europe to ban the burqa and will introduce legislation outlawing the head-to-toe Islamic garment “within days”.

Interestingly, even Muslim nations have banned burqas and niqabs in a similar manner as the Dutch proposal. Turkey, Tunisia, and Egypt have all outlawed the wearing of the ultraconservative garments in public, and since there is no reason to wear them in private, they presumably have no currency at all in those nations.

hey its obvious that the guy who posted this document about islam was ignorant...DO muslims come to your doorsteps to convert you? or do christian missionaires... hitler was a christian could we not say that christianity taught the wrong things just from his doings but we muslims dont say that and neither do you have the right to say that cause the are extremist in every religion look at bush isnt he a christian? does he care about the families of others or the oil?? does christianity teach you that?? go attack people who are innocent like the Afghanis and kill them or better off give em electricshocks and torture them to death... i dont think that is the message of christianity...buddy grow up elaborate your knowledge about islam... why arent they kidnappings rappings in saudi Arabia... Islam is first and foremost a political doctrine to rule. Religion is jst a part of the whole equation.

You don't seem to know much about Islam per Quran/hadith/sunna.

*Sigh* Here we go again. Apparently you guys can't attack the facism of political correctness without making statements at least equally absurd to your liberal counterparts. Let's take it one statement at a time:

Jews, and Bahai don't. Christians have many times in their history. They went on all sorts of holy wars in Europe, forced all of their slaves to convert to Christianity and forced the Indians to convert. Hindus have also: when Buddhism was established, Buddhists were mass murdered by Hindus. Here are my sources:

I don't think I even need to start on how medieval Christian Europe was. Think of Galileo and Copernecius being persecuted for using science, Jews being accused of drinking blood, etc. Basically what you're complaining about of the muslim world today only 500-800 years ago.

The link didn't work but I'll assume its some horrible act of torture. Even today, in India women are caught on fire if they are raped in many areas according to Hindu tradition. They can also be burnt if their husband dies, or if they are caught with another man. In Judaism, they are supposed to stone people for many reasons; they just don't carry out that practice anymore.

No that is not the situation. There is a war between Ethiopia and Eritrea and one in the Sudan. Eritrean factions just made a strategic alliance with some Sudanese which has created an Ethiopian hostility with certain ethnic groups. If I wasn't a specialist on the Ethiopian/Eritrean conflict I might fall for this. The spreading of the situation is political in nature not religious.

And to close:

Islam is a religion. Religions are made of a spectrum of people. This has a number of implications:

1. Religions DON'T have the political hegemony to have definite political affiliation. Therefore, Islam can't have an alliance with the Democrats anymore than Christianity have an alliance with the Republicans. To help you understand this I'll explain it in terms of the latter. You may believe God would endorse the Republican platform. But would Middle Eastern Christians, who are politcally similar to the muslims there agree? No because they are anti-Zionist. How about the Unitarians ?(granted their freaks) No they'd say God is a liberal. So as you can see, Christianity as a whole is not definitively Right wing. And Islam would never be Left winged- you could never get 100% of muslims to agree with the Democrats and many would be repelled by their pro-choice and gay marriage stance. I personally am disgusted by Democrats as they are patronizing and speak a bunch of Marxist bullcrap about muslims being an "oppressed group." But the kind of selective ilk you put on this site is why I am an Independent and not a Republican.

2.There is diversity of sects in religions. The Wahabis and Shi'ite (who are screwing up the Middle East) are simply NOT the same as Sufis (Mystic Muslims: what I am) and Submitters (a reform sect I am loosely affiliated with).

I hope this clears the matter up. Listen to this author and me and drink deeply of the words of men, as they can all sparkle with truth.
